• THF can be synthesized from the catalytic hydrogenation of Furan. The process of manufacturing THF in the industry uses dehydration of 1,4-butanediol with an acid catalyst. • THF pretends to form peroxides if stored in opened case. Therefore, THF should not be distilled to dry, which can leave explosive peroxide residues. Commercial THF often uses BHT to prevent the formation of peroxides.
